After losing a tight and controversial Grand Final a year ago, Brisbane's chances of making it back in 2024 looked slim early on in the home and away season, as they languished outside of the eight for much of the early stages.
 
But not only did they rush into the finals, a late win against Greater Western Sydney in the Semi-Final thrust them in to the Grand Final, via a win against Geelong. The other Preliminary Final saw minor premiers Sydney make it through, having survived a raft of injuries during the second half of the season, that saw them slip back to the rest of the pack in the ladder.
 
But they were no match for Brisbane in the big game, scoring seven straight goals to burst into a 46 point lead at half-time, and they coasted to a 60 point win which ended their run of 21 years since their back-to-back-to-back premierships in the early 2000s.
