Despite being hammered 38-10 in game 1, New South Wales reclaimed the men's shield, in a bruising 14-4 game 3 in Brisbane.
 
In the women's, Queensland kicked a game-winning field goal in game 2 to even the series, before retaining the Shield in a historic first-ever game 3, 22-6.
