The tournament's showpiece match saw the hosts dominate the first half, scoring five tries as they blew away France to lead 33-0 at half-time. And although France responded with five tries of their own, including two in the final five minutes, the deficit was too great to overcome, with the English winning 38-33.
 
Wales again finished third, but this time winning three matches for the first time since 2009, whilst Ireland's descent continues as countries putting more resources in pass them by, with their first wooden spoon since 2004, as they only scored three tries in their five matches.
