Returning after a three-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Australia men still kept their run of golds at the tournament going, as they claimed a third straight gold with a 21-17 victory over their Antipodean rivals New Zealand. China claimed a second straight bronze, beating Philippines 20-18.
 
But in the women's, Australia could not reclaim their gold medal they won in 2019, as it was China who came up good in the final, beating the Aussies in a low-scoring game 14-10. Indonesia claimed their first-ever medal by defeating Japan 21-17 in the bronze medal game.
