The second year of South African clubs being included in the league again saw the final held in the country, as the defending champions Western Province would again host in Cape Town as despite their third place finish in the regular season, they would end up the higher seeded finalist, after the top side from the regular season Leinster - who only lost once in a final round match against Northern Gauteng - like in 2022 lost in the semi-final. This time it was Munster who squeaked past them in Dublin, 16-15.

Connacht were the third Irish club to make the semis, but the defending champions eventually swept them aside, 43-25, meaning with Munster making the final from fifth place, they would again be hosting the final.

Both teams scored tries inside the first ten minutes before Munster scored a second and held a 12-7 half-time lead. Western Province would again take the lead with a converted Deon Fourie try ten minutes into the second half. And it would stay like that until John Hodnett scored what proved the winner with six minutes left, before the visitors claimed a historic triumph 19-14. It was Munster's fourth title and first since 2011.
