This set contains full team cards for all four countries, including try scorers and individual goal kicker ranges, as well as tournament-specific control charts for both home-and-away and neutral venue matches, for the tournament mostly held in Australia due to coronavirus entry restrictions.
 
World champions South Africa returned to the tournament following their withdrawal in 2020, however, New Zealand once again became champions for the second straight year and 18th overall as they won their first five matches, including a 19-17 victory over South Africa in Townsville before the Africans won in added time on the Gold Coast 31-29 over the Kiwis to end their attempt at another clean sweep.
 
Australia finished a much-improved tournament second, beating South Africa twice – in another added time result 28-26 before a more comfortable 30-17, but for Argentina they took a step backwards having been unable to play at home for a second straight year, losing all six matches.
