The 2021 season was the first following the cancellation of the whole 2020 year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and also saw the delayed Tokyo Olympic Games.
 
This set for recurve archery has 81 men's (with 15 men's teams) and 74 women's (with 13 women's teams) archers with full arrow-by-arrow and set score ratings, as well as qualification ratings. These numbers also give 25 mixed teams.
 
In Tokyo, Mete Gazoz of Turkey won a historic men's individual gold medal, and broke the dominance of the South Koreans, who won all four other golds, including An San winning the women's individual as she won all three available medals to her.
