This set contains all 12 men's and 12 women's teams at the Games delayed by a year in Tokyo, with all receiving team cards and team lists for ratings, as well as scoring cards (maximum 13 players included).
 
In the men's tournament, France not only claimed a first-ever medal but also a historic gold one, despite going 2-3 in the pool phase, but starting with a 3-2 win over world champions Poland in the quarter-final, they then defeated Argentina 3-0, before taking a 2-0 lead against Russia in the gold medal match.
 
The Russians would come back by winning the next two sets, but the French repelled the rally by claiming the final set 15-12. Argentina then claimed their second-best result when they won the bronze medal match 3-2 over defending champions Brazil, who slipped back to fourth after winning on home soil five years earlier.
 
In the women's tournament, there was also a historic gold medal, this time for the United States as they surpassed their best-ever result of silver - most recently in 2012 - as only a pool loss to Russia stopped them from a perfect tournament, which they did have a perfect run in the knockout stage, winning all three matches 3-0 against Dominican Republic, Serbia and finally in the gold medal match Brazil.
 
Winners of the silver medal in 2016, Serbia, finished with bronze this time, as they defeated Korea 3-0. Defending champions China were eliminated in the pool phase with a 2-3 record.
