This set contains full home and away team ratings and scoring cards for all 14 teams that competed in this season (Victoria League).

Note that this season had quarter lengths of 25 instead of 20 minutes, so that should be used for full play games; we've decided to use the men's quick play chart unaltered at this stage (as at release).

Hawthorn dominated the season, winning 19 of 22 matches on the way to the minor premiership, and then after making the Grand Final, saw off Geelong by a single goal. Geelong had set a record for most points in a regular season with 2916, and had lost with the highest score in Round 6 to the same Hawthorn club (163 to 171).

The Grand Final looked like being a walk in the park for Hawthorn, kicking eight goals to lead by 40 at quarter-time, and holding it to a 36 point lead at three-quarter-time. But a fatigued squad helped Geelong roar back to within one goal with 30 seconds left to play. But they would not be denied from back-to-back premierships, and eighth overall. For Geelong, their wait since 1963 would go on on for another 18 years.
