As this game was played following the 1989 Australian League Grand Final, if playing that set and you have a different champion than Canberra, additional modifiers for all Australian teams are included in the set to allow you to use that team instead.
 
Widnes had won the previous game in 1987 against Manly-Warringah, and despite falling behind 12-0 early on, they would win this one too, scoring the next thirty points (and six tries), in a 30-18 win over Canberra, and thus becoming the first two-time World champions.
