So after my latest epiphany on this game, which is now 4 years old without being released, I present to you the latest version.
From the card layout, you will see that ratings in green relate to the team serving, and blue relate to the team receiving the point.
I currently have both 2d10 and 2d6 versions. I am tending towards the 2d10 version of the cards, as the 2d6 may be too generic and mean teams aren't able to be differentiated against (which ended the v1/v2 versions back in 2018), but on the other hand 2d10 may be too clinical and not allow for different outcomes (in sets, let alone matches).
As you'll see noted in the rules, this only deals with the point-by-point version, and not the simplified/quick-score version that I plan to add, or have a chart to determine the length of set (in minutes).
The eight teams in this set have been blinded to allow for the best play-test conditions, but all come from real outputted ratings from teams at the 2022 Women's World Championships - from different areas of the final team ranking.
So if you want to help play-test this version, feel free to play out as many or as few matches as you want. Let me know what you think about the rules, the card layout, the game play and feel and also the results you get. Any questions, then reply here or via the usual channels.
Before this game goes on sale, I plan to collect data for the 2022 Men's World Championships and 2021 (2020) Olympics, and hopefully the two 2022 Nations Leagues (men and women).
